Areas of focus

How it works

Three steps, and the first one costs nothing.

1

Free 20-minute consultation

Not therapy, just a conversation. You'll hear how we work and what the team is like, and we'll hear what's bringing you in. Pick a time that suits you, sometimes as early as today.

2

A recommendation, not an assignment

We'll tell you who on the team we think fits best for your situation, your schedule, and how you like to work. The choice is always yours.

3

First session

Central Austin, across from Pease Park, or virtual, usually within the week.

Meet the team

Your relationship with your therapist is one of the most important indicators of success in therapy. We feel confident that you’ll form a trusting, helpful, and safe relationship with one of our clinicians, but if you ever need referrals for other therapists, we’re happy to provide those as well. Getting you the help that you need is our top priority.

What we specialize in

Life can be challenging, and whatever brings you here, you don't have to figure it out alone.

Some other things we work with

What it's like here

We're a boutique practice, not a clinic. A small team who really cares about our clients. We work together to bring our clients the best care possible. We are located in a quiet, peaceful office in Central Austin, across from Pease Park.

Common Questions

Who do you work with?

+

Children, teens, and adults. Individuals, couples, and families. Most people find us for anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, grief, and life transitions.

What happens on a consultation call?

+

Twenty minutes on the phone that is not therapy. You will hear how we work and what the team is like, we will hear what is bringing you in, and we will end by suggesting who we think fits best. You decide whether to go ahead, and with whom.

Do you take insurance?

+

No. We are out of network, so we do not bill your insurer directly. Many plans still reimburse part of out of network therapy once you have met your deductible. We'll check what your specific plan offers by hand. Just let us know you are interested in learning about your OON benefits and we'll take it from there.

What if the cost doesn't fit my budget?

+

Let us know. Rates vary by clinician, and we also offer supervised graduate clinicians at a significantly reduced fee. The consultation itself is always free, so the conversation is about finding an option that works for you.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

+

Yes. Every clinician sees clients both in our Austin office and by secure video, and plenty of people mix the two depending on the week.

How long will I be in therapy?

+

It varies. Some people come for a focused stretch of a few months, others stay longer. We will talk about what you are aiming for and revisit it as you go.

Where are you, and can you see me outside Texas?

+

Our office is at 1609 Shoal Creek Blvd, Suite 301, on Shoal Creek across from Pease Park, Central Austin. Our licenses are Texas based, so you need to be in Texas at the time of the session. If you travel often, mention it on the call and we will sort out the scheduling.

Meet us before you decide

Twenty minutes on the phone, no cost, no commitment. Worst case, you have had a useful conversation and know a little more about what you want.
