At Decades, we offer EMDR Intensives as a structured, three-part experience — designed to give your nervous system time to prepare, process, and integrate. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-backed approach that uses gentle bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sounds) to help your brain process and integrate experiences that feel unresolved. The intensive package includes three sessions across three days
Day 1 — Preparation Session (90 minutes):
A thoughtful, supportive session where we clarify your goals, identify treatment targets and underlying patterns, assess readiness, build grounding and regulation tools, and offer guidance for caring for yourself between sessions. This step allows us to move into the intensive with clarity, safety, and intention.
Day 2 — EMDR Intensive (3 hours):
This is where deeper processing unfolds — with support, flexibility, and space to move at a pace that feels right for you. Includes guided EMDR processing using bilateral stimulation, support working through memories, patterns, or triggers that feel unresolved, ongoing attunement to your pace and nervous system, breaks as needed, and time for reflection, integration, and gentle closing.
Day 3 — Integration Session (90 minutes):
This phase helps support the shifts from your intensive so they can carry more fully into everyday life. We reflect on what has shifted emotionally, mentally, and physically, make meaning of your experience, strengthen new supportive beliefs, build tools for continued regulation and growth, and discuss next steps.
Investment: $550 for the full intensive package. Payment plans available.

We offer Preparation and Integration Sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 3-hour Intensive Sessions on Wednesdays and select weekends. We recommend in-person sessions for intensive work whenever possible, but virtual options are available for clients who need them.

Weekly EMDR sessions run 50–60 minutes and unfold over many weeks or months. Intensives compress the work into a focused three-day format — a 90-minute preparation session, a 3-hour processing session, and a 90-minute integration session. The extended processing time allows your brain to stay in a working state without weekly resets, which many clients find creates faster, deeper movement.
No. The Day 1 Preparation Session is designed to assess readiness and build the resources you need, whether or not you've done EMDR previously. Some clients come to their first EMDR experience through an intensive; others have done weekly EMDR and want to go deeper.
The full three-session intensive package is $550. Payment plans are available.
We strongly recommend in-person sessions for the 3-hour intensive itself — the environment matters for deeper trauma work. Preparation and Integration Sessions can be done virtually if needed. We have an office in downtown Austin for in-person sessions.
